Acupressure - Acupressure is a form of bodywork based in traditional Chinese meridian theory in which acupuncture points are pressed to stimulate the flow of energy or chi.

Reiki - Reiki is a Japanese word pronounced "ray-kee" and means "universal life energy." It is a light touch or no-touch technique for channeling this omnipresent energy to promote healing.

Cupping therapy - an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage

Reflexology - Reflexology is a form of bodywork based on the theory of zone therapy, in which specific spots of the body are pressed to stimulate corresponding areas in other parts of the body. Foot reflexology, in which pressure techniques are applied only to the feet, is the most common form of reflexology.

Tui Na & Gua Sha - deep tissue Chinese massage; a fundamental part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), along with Acupuncture, Acupressure, Chinese Herbs, Cupping, Moxibustion, Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Tui Na is used in many hospitals in China as the first and only choice of healthcare.

Lomilomi is the word used today to mean "massage therapist" or "Hawaiian massage." In the Hawaiian language, the word used traditionally, called lomi, means "to knead, to rub, or soothe; to work in and out, as the paws of a contented cat."

Ashiatsu therapy, pressure with thumbs, hands, elbows, knees or feet is applied to pressure points on the body. This form of therapeutic massage also focuses on rotating and stretching limbs, joints, and pressure points, or meridians, as they're called in traditional Chinese medicine.

Shiatsu is a (Japanese for "finger pressure") therapy developed in Japan and incorporating techniques of amma (Japanese traditional massage), acupressure, stretching, and can be translated as finger pressure, has been described as needle-free acupuncture. Shiatsu is a system for healing and health maintenance that has evolved over thousands of years. The goal of each of the different types of shiatsu being practiced, Zen shiatsu, tsubo point therapy, shiatsu massage and water shiatsu, is balancing energy flow.

Moxibustion - a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called "moxa" are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences.

Jin Shin Do® - Jin Shin Do (JSD), the "way of the compassionate spirit," is Iona Marsaa Teeguarden's synthesis of Eastern and Western theories and practices. It is a method of releasing muscle tension and stress by applying deepening finger pressure to combinations of specific points on the body. It combines classic Chinese acupuncture theory, Taoist Yogic philosophy and breathing methods, and Japanese acupressure techniques.

Manual Lymph Drainage - Manual lymph drainage is a gentle method of promoting movement of lymph into and through the lymphatic vessels. It reduces edema, a condition in which the tissues of the body contain an excessive amount of fluid.

Somatic Therapy: Somatic therapy is a holistic therapy that studies the relationship between the mind and body in regard to psychological past. The theory behind somatic therapy is that trauma symptoms are the effects of instability of the ANS (autonomic nervous system).

Neuromuscular Therapy  - A systematic approach to myofascial treatment that attempts to interrupt the neuromuscular feedback that maintains pain or dysfunction.

Reflexology: a therapeutic method of relieving pain by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. This controlled pressure alleviates the source of the discomfort. Practitioners work from maps of predefined pressure points that are located on the hands and feet

Bodywork - Bodywork is a general term for practices involving touch and movement in both Eastern and Western practices  where the practitioner may use manual and energetic techniques to promote health and healing in the recipient.

Qigong can be described as a mind-body-spirit practice that improves one's mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, breathing technique, self-massage, sound, and focused intent. There are likely thousands of qigong styles, schools, traditions, forms, and lineages, each with practical applications and different theories about Qi (“subtle breath” or “vital energy”) and Gong (“skill cultivated through steady practice”).

REVIEWS:

Yolanda --- I met through a non-profit venture, because Yolanda is involved in so many different non-profit causes that benefit people, and  brings her healing skills to those who suffer from many different situations be it sports injury or traumatic episodes in their lives.  Yolanda has been my, and my family's, personal body worker for over 10 years. I credit her with keeping my body pain free -- in spite of starting and stopping tennis through the years!! I have also introduced Yolanda to others on the team whom she has worked with many times. She knows many, many different modalities of massage, and integrates her vast knowledge to select a type of massage that is tailor designed to each person's unique body and needs. Yolanda is extremely intuitive, well trained and intelligent, and just obtained her Masters in Oriental Medicine allowing her to learn more in acupressure points and Chinese herbs

I've been Yolanda's devotee in Southern California since 2009. Both my husband and I agree that in all our travels and experiences with massage, Yolanda is by far the most proficient and educated. I have an ongoing hip misalignment that has been only tolerable with many other types of bodywork treatments. Yolanda's approach to musculoskeletal health is far and above skilled and different than any I've known. She uses her knowledge and expertise to lower inflammation, which healed my hip within a few treatments. It did not take long for my husband to try Yolanda's technique for his post operative shoulder injury. We book with Yolanda before anyone else because she is exceptional in the Restorative arts.

Having had a work related shoulder injury which I had dealt with for five years without satisfactory results from the provided care givers, it has been a great experience to discover pain relief through these processes with Yolanda at SeaZen Restorative. I was specially happy with the intuitive and collaborative manner which has been demonstrated, and which I have been included in to accomplish healing for my body. I hope those who are hurting will also find their way to this unique opportunity to gently and naturally get results.

Thanks so much!
